Nuclear
There is an increasing demand for more sustainable energy sources to support future economic and environmental climate changes. Fusion power is expected to become a major energy source by 2050, so research into new materials and systems is critical for our nuclear customers.
Phoenix places a high emphasis on developing test machinery and equipment to support the testing requirements of the nuclear industry for high temperature and environmental testing.
We have developed strong partnerships with our nuclear customers in the UK and worldwide to design and build unique test machines and environmental chambers with extreme temperature and pressure testing. Our latest developments have allowed us to design the next generation of environmental chambers, capable of carrying out cryogenic temperatures to -196°C and our current environmental chambers are able to test up to 2,000°C*.
Our chambers are also suitable for testing in various conditions, including under vacuum, inert gas, corrosive gas, and oxygen enrichment environments, allowing our nuclear customers to get the most out of their test machine and accessories.
We have also supplied a range of Phoenix Bench Top Test Machines to our customers in the nuclear sector, ideally suited to miniaturised testing or small punch creep and fatigue testing, where materials and components are usually very expensive or in extremely limited supply. Using a small amount of material, our test machines are able to gather the maximum amount of data, provide reliable and accurate results while keeping costs at a minimum.
We have supplied a wide range of equipment and accessories to our customers within the nuclear and power generation industry, including:
- Bench Top Test Machines
- Small-punch creep and fatigue testing machines
- Creep and stress rupture testing machines
- Miniaturised testing
