Sam joined our team in 2012 as a Calibration and Service Engineer, and has continued to progress within Phoenix, becoming our Acting Head of Lab in 2015, and then became our Operations Manager in 2017.

During his time with Phoenix, Sam has gained a First Class Honours Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and was runner up in the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Young Person of the Year Award in 2016.

Sam is responsible for making sure our Service and Calibration and Manufacturing departments meet their targets and deadlines, planning and scheduling our production goals and maintaining quality and health and safety for Phoenix.

Darren Wilkes has worked with test machines since 1989. He has worked with customers from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and has an unrivalled knowledge of all aspects of test machines and hydraulic systems.

Darren has been a UKAS accredited calibration engineer since 1996 and has been Head of Lab and Technical director for Phoenix since 2003.

Vicki Wilkes graduated from Swansea University with a degree in materials Science and Engineering (with German) (BEng (Hons)), she then worked as an engineer in a test laboratory (Bodycote Materials Testing) before moving into technical sales for ESH Testing Ltd until 2003, when she became Managing Director of Phoenix.

Tom joined our team in 2013 as a Mechanical Design Apprentice, progressing to our Mechanical Design Manager in 2016.

During his time with Phoenix, Tom has gained a HNC Apprenticeship and a First Class Honours Degree in Manufacturing Engineering.

Tom is responsible for the project management of the mechanical design team from enquiry to delivery, supporting manufacture, 3D design and 2D detailing, and provides technical support for our customers

Joe joined our team as a Mechanical Engineer in 2017. He has a wealthy of experience, travelling the globe as a Marine Engineer.

Joe is an essential member of our team, carrying out on-site services and maintenance, repairing and refurbishing actuators and fitting and machining.

Sarah joined the Phoenix team in 2007 as our Bookkeeper, with experience using Sage 50 Accounts.

Sarah is responsible for processing invoices and payments, and managing our accounts to ensure accuracy. Sarah is also responsible for the accounts and administration of our sister company, Merlin Powder Characterisation Ltd.

Emma joined the Phoenix team in 2016 as an Admin Assistant with a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, and has progressed to our Customer Services Coordinator in 2017.

As the first point of call for our customers, Emma is central to all elements of the team’s dealings with our customers, and with a friendly approach and positive attitude, Emma ensures that they get the very best service and are fully supported.

Stephanie joined our team in 2014 as an Admin Assistant, progressing to our Marketing and Admin Coordinator in 2017.

During her time with Phoenix, Stephanie has completed a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, and gained a place at Wolverhampton University studying a Degree in Business Management.

Stephanie manages the social media accounts for Phoenix, and is responsible for the marketing campaigns, exhibitions and conference presence. Stephanie is also responsible for the administration of Phoenix, ensuring all daily activities run smoothly.

Gurbax joined our team as a Financial Controller in 2017 with a wealth of experience in accountancy and is a qualified ACCA.

Gurbax manages the financial accounts for Phoenix, ensuring all projects and related costs are on target, and that all customer accounts are managed efficiently. Gurbax is also responsible for the financial accounts of our sister company, Rotech Laboratories Ltd.

Roger joined our team in 2013 as our Electronics Production Manager, with over 30 years’ experience in electronics. In 2017, Roger progressed into his new role as Production Quality Control.

Roger has gained a wide variety of training during his time at Phoenix, including Leadership and Management, IOSH Health and Safety and City and Guilds certified PAT Testing, and continues to develop his hydraulics knowledge.

Roger is responsible for ensuring our products are of the highest quality and standards, and provides technical support to our customers.

Mark Nunn joined the Phoenix team in 2007 as a Software and Electronics Engineer, progressing to Software Development Manager. He is responsible for managing a small team of engineers, developing software for our customers. Mark is also responsible for planning, designing, coding and testing software, as well as providing technical support and maintenance to our customers.

Mark has a wealth of experience with a BEng Degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, and over 20 years' experience in developing and supplying highly specialised software solutions for many types of testing machines.

Edison joined Phoenix in 2013 as a KTP Associate with University of Wolverhampton, with a focus on Electronics Research and Development.

Following the completion of his studies, Edison joined Phoenix full time as and Electronics Design Engineer, as is responsible for the project management of the electronics design team, supporting production and providing technical support.

Paresh joined the Phoenix team in 2016 as Calibration and Service Engineer, with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a background in the Aerospace industry, and has recently become and authorised signatory for UKAS.

Paresh manages the service and calibration department, quoting and scheduling site visits and carrying out calibration services and routine oil, filter and servo valve changes to a wide range of industries. Paresh is also able to provide technical support to our customers.

Sam joined our team in 2015 as a Software Engineer. Using his skills and experience, Sam has developed our very own in-house, bespoke database system to fully support our technical and administration information.

Sam is responsible for maintaining and improving data systems for technical and user access points to increase efficiency and usability. Sam also develops customer facing applications and software for Phoenix developed machines.

Mitchell Rivers is the driver for Phoenix and our sister company, Rotech. He makes sure that parts are collected and delivered on time and manages the goods in department, ensuring that all parts are present, correct, and in the right amount and condition.

Akram joined the Phoenix team in 2017 as a Software Engineer, after completing his studies in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Newcastle University.

Akram’s main focus is in research and development of new products, and also provides technical support in thermography and pyrometry applications.

Roy joined the Phoenix team as a Wireman in 2014, with a longstanding background in electronics and a City and Guilds in Electronic Servicing.

Roy has excellent knowledge of electronics, and uses his skills and experience to build the electronic components for our Phoenix products to their technical specifications.

Craig joined our team in 2014 as a Wireman, and has progressed to our Production Supervisor in 2017. Craig has a wealth of knowledge and experience in electronics assembly, and has developed his product knowledge of hydraulic systems during his time with Phoenix. Craig is responsible for managing and organising the production activities of both mechanical and electronics departments, including project management.
