We've Checked Our Nuts! Have You Checked Yours?
We supported the Movember Foundation during the month of November, with the help of our sister company, Rotech Laboratories. We’re pleased to announce that we raised over £170 for suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer, which was possible due to the support of the Rubery Owen Charitable Trust.
On your marks, get set, bake!
The team at Phoenix put on their best aprons and tried their hands at baking to support this great cause. Our bake sale took place on the 17th of November, with some seriously impressive showstoppers that Prue Leith would be proud of, including cupcakes, carrot cake, brownies, and swiss roll!
There were no soggy bottoms in sight as the cakes received the seal of approval from our team. We even have our very own Paul Hollywood in the Phoenix extended family! Our Operations Manager Tim Coyle enlisted the help of his sister to bake a beautiful vanilla sponge cake complete with a Movember moustache decoration.
Not only that, but our Test Lab Technician Taran proved she’s not just a whizz in the test laboratory, baking an impressive cheesecake with no leftovers.
Tim Coyle said “The bake sale was a great opportunity to raise some money for men’s health, which is a cause close to all of our hearts. The Phoenix team also never say no to cake, and we’ve learnt that we have some very talented bakers amongst us”.
Supporting Movember
We work with lots of male dominated industries including automotive, aerospace, and nuclear, and we wanted to do our part to support Movember, and the great work it does for men’s health. As experts in testing fasteners of all sizes and shapes, it seems only fitting that we encourage our team, and the wider industry to “check their nuts”.
Whilst we’re on the subject of nuts, it’s not only important to check your nuts, but also to test your nuts. We’re passionate about testing nuts, bolts, and fasteners, to make sure they are fit for purpose. We specialise in proof load, and tensile testing for large nuts and fasteners, up to size M42.
