Fatigue Testing

If you need to understand the behaviour of your product under fluctuating loads, our Phoenix test laboratory can carry out subcontract fatigue testing on your sample.

Overview

Fatigue testing is performed to understand the behaviour of a component. By applying a cyclic load to the test application, we can generate data to determine the critical area of failure within the material, providing quality assurance and reliability of your product. We have carried out fatigue testing on a range of components and samples for our customers in the Automotive and Engineering sectors. 

Our Phoenix laboratory is equipped with the latest technology and accessories to carry out fatigue testing, using a range of machines from 0.12kN to 1600kN and a variety of instrumentation to perform fatigue tests to your specification. Each project will have a test preparation and contract review procedure to be approved by our customer before the test is carried out. If required, we can design and manufacture bespoke grips and fixtures to ensure the sample fits into the machine, ready for testing.

TMF Testing

If you need to combine fatigue testing with elevated temperature testing, we also offer Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue testing in our subcontract laboratory. 

Our test lab is equipped with a variety of heating methods, including traditional furnaces, infrared emitters, induction heating, pyrometry and extensometry.

Fatigue Testing Machines

We don’t just carry out fatigue testing, we also design and build test machines to customer specification, allowing them to carry out their own fatigue testing applications within their own laboratories, and can also be modified to include Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue applications. 

He have supplied a variety of fatigue test machines to leading UK universities, including our High Temperature Corrosion Fatigue machine.
