Rubery Owen Materials Testing Division

As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a comprehensive range of materials testing services, we have formed the Rubery Owen Materials Testing Division, along with Merlin Powder Characterisation and Rotech Laboratories. We have developed a brand new, state-of-the-art testing facility in Brierley Hill, in the heart of the West Midlands. This unique, cutting-edge facility will help to keep the UK at the forefront of testing technology.

Phoenix Materials Testing Laboratory

The Rubery Owen Testing and Research Centre combines the latest in high temperature, humidity and pressure testing capabilities, and also houses our existing Phoenix Materials Testing Laboratory, providing our current fatigue and thermomechanical (TMF) testing, fastener and product testing capabilities.

Merlin Powder Characterisation

The new facility also houses the Merlin Powder Characterisation test laboratories, in which the physical properties and compressibility of pharmaceutical drugs (API’s) are determined by use of a Phoenix Compaction Simulator, coupled with the latest in compression science technology.

Rotech Laboratories is one of the UK’s leading testing laboratories based in Wednesbury, West Midlands, and provides an extensive range of UKAS accredited, routine testing procedures including mechanical testing, chemical analysis and failure analysis for a variety of sectors.
